Hello lovely people..
Recently RAMAYANA the great Indian epic was telecasted once again on the TV channel Doordarshan and I got the opportunity to watch it. The values and ethics that Ramayana teaches us is written below:
RESPECT OF WOMEN:
The core element of Ramayana was Ram killing Ravana to rescue his wife Sita from his clutches. Ravana was pleased with Sita's beauty that was why he abducted her and wanted to marry her. But his evil thoughts were shattered because of Sita's indomitable spirit and longing for her husband.
WELFARE OF ALL:
Ram was a loved king and he commensurately loved his disciples back. This is a must watch scene for all the politicians who play dirty political games to increase their vote bank which are the poor by misleading and making fake promises to them.He appears to be a pure soul who wishes to help the poor and needy who used to respect him a lot.
In comparison, Ravana's wicked thinking caused problems not only to himself but to all his kingdom.
BE PREPARED:
Life is full of uncertainties and risks. One cannot predict what will happen in future because of dynamic human nature. For instance how King Ram was changed to The Saint Ram was a flabbergasted sight. It teaches us to be prepared to face any challenge and ups and downs in our lives.
THERE IS SOME GOOD IN EVERY EVIL:
Ravana was a ardent devout of Lord Shiva. After immense worship he got powers that made him the king of Lanka. He was the king of demons but had immense courage and strength.During the entire war he never gave up and always tried his level best to defeat his enemy. Even in the entire group of demons, one can see Vibhishan (Ravana's younger brother) and Mandhodhri (Ravana's wife) who have a very different approach towards life in comparison to their community which symbolized destruction.
FAMILY: YOUR HEART AND SOUL
No matter how hard and trying time comes what is clearly visible is Ram's family love for him and Sita. Ram's brothers were very supportive and compassionate.
LAKSHAM: Even though he was not given exile(vanvas) still he accompanied Ram and took care of all his needs.
BHART: He was provided with the opportunity to take over the throne as the King but he simply declined it and waited for his elder brother to return and take over.
Thought the list is quite long I tried to mention the most important ones. Epics like these provide us a chance to ponder over the current scenario.Hope the modern generation at least imbibe some of them.
